Prospect looks !

Hey Everyone,

The holiday weekend so far has been amazing! Today we officially performed our first application :) !!! It was so much fun! Abby of Juicy Looks was kind enough to ask us to assist her on a with a bridal party today. Initially I was only meant to do foundations , but ended up doing the foundations , lips and blush for the bridesmaids. We started late and Abby wanted to make sure she got the time she needed to focus on the bride. Abby , did direct me when needed and did the eyes of all the bridesmaids. She was a fabulous teacher.

After this experience today I feel confident and excited :) it was so fast paced that I didn't get to take pics with my camera :s but as soon as I get it I will definitely be posting them. In the meantime I was playing around and practicing on myself lol.....

I call these prospect looks because 1 look would be nice for a vintage look whether its a night out or bridal. Personally I would love this look for a bride... The other look would be nice for a Bride I tried a nude and pink lip with both. Which lip do you like better ?

Update!! :)

Hi Everyone!!!

How is everyone doing ? I have been so busy its been FUN:) So a few updates :)

My Intern Emily has sucessfully finished her internship with La Mode and she was fabulous!

La Mode is really picking up , we have a bridal shoot tomorrow, which we styled for and a high fashion photoshoot at the end of this month. Our first bride of 2010 is taking her vows tomorrow and was styled by La Mode. We are also proud to introduce our newest service!!! Which will be offering "Day of co-ordinating" services to those who might not want or can afford a planar but want to ensure thier special day goes smoothly. These services will be available for Weddings , Birthday Parties ,Events and much more .We have two clients already for this service :).

La Mode's portfolio is filling up because we know everyone loves PROOF! I will be creating an online portfolio link that I will be posting here , the website and giving potential customers for them to see our work as well as testimonials.

For now I will turn this blog specifically towards showing pics from work that I have done , more like a portfolio blog. I will be posting the first new post this week! I might start another blog where I share all my passions for fashion :) So thank you all for the support and your readership!

Something New :)

Hey Everyone !

La Mode will soon be offering Stella and Dot accessories !! We are very excited to add this to part of a newly revamped La Mode :) , I will be an independent consultant with Stella and Dot. I think it will be a fabulous addition. I fell in love with this necklace that I saw a lady wearing and thought to myself I want that like NOW! She later told me she was a Stella and Dot consultant. I was like what is that ? So she gave me a mini brochure and I got on the website and fell in love with a ton of things! I thought to my self my clients would love some of these pieces :)

The "Mom" piece I LOVE! I have been wanting something like that unique n special so this is a serious gift contender :)

Monday :)

Happy Monday!

Hey everyone :) a new week has arrived woo woo. I'm patiently waiting till March , end of March to be exact so I can get my iPad! ;) I don't care what anyone says. It does all the things I need and being that I don't have an iPhone or iPod touch it would be perfect. I played around on my girls iPhone last night , I must admit if not for the dozens of contacts on my BBM I would have gladly traded my Blackberry for an iPhone.

I have been wanting an e-reader for a while now and to be honest I didn't even know it existed till I saw it on Onada's blog LOL.... I love reading books though, James Patterson , Jackie Collins , John Grisham etc. I am also looking for new authors to read , so the e-reader portion of the iPad made me one happy potential buyer :)

As we all know by now Who Dat Nation is ECSTATIC! Congrats to New Orleans!!! I mean as you all know ( or for those who don't) I am a SERIOUS Eagles fan , however we need to put in some serious work. We have been to the playoffs 8 times in the last 10 years and no SUPER BOWL WIN!! So when my teams chances were cut :s naturally I choose an alternate team hehe , which was the New Orleans. No offense to the Colts who I think is an amazing team as well , but New Orleans needed this more. Manning & Co already have one under their belt , heck the Eli and Peyton both have rings so I wanted the underdogs to have this.

As we should all know this lol , Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush have the spotlight this week. Literally every blog , gossip , entertainment website is talking about them lol. Last night after the Super bowl when my fav commentators on the NFL network were talking to Reggie and Porter of course Kim had to get her spotlight and lurk behind , they eventually called her up to speak. However , under her name they put "Model" Kim is no model , she is a reality tv star in my opinion who is riding the wave from her tape that made her so famous. I gotta admit though the girl has style so whatever rocks her boat lol.

Now for the rest of this week I plan to save at least $50 towards my savings challenge that I am taking part in over at Onada's blog. I have come up with my "wishlist" for 2010. I am always so busy being mom and wife , that sometimes I have little or no time for me! So I have decided to write down 12 of my absolute fav things I want this year and buy at least 1 item each month. Its time to take care of "Me". I will blog about every item I buy on my wishlist :) so stay tuned to see this months buy.

Lastly , I want to start a reader style watch! , I want you the readers to send me pictures of anything you think is fashionable or that you just love and I will post it up on my blog. I have my first one to put up soon. A friend of mine was shopping in Zara and saw the cutest trench coat. He sent me a picture and I plan to blog about it! Don't forget when you send it to me you have to tell me why you love it !

Other than that I will be working hard on my clients ,working at WHBM this week and think about what I will do for the Hubby this Valentines day :)

Let's talk Grammy Awards!

Hey Everyone,

Let's talk Grammys ! The Grammy awards took place Jan 31st 2010 , I was impressed , amused and disappointed at the same time. Lady Gaga cracks me up!!!! she is so hilarious with her eccentric , no sense making outfits but hey I guess we can agree that is her trademark LOL.

I was impressed with Beyonce's outfit on the red carpet but wasn't too impressed with the dress she later changed into ( however, I did like the outfit during her performance). Congrats to her because she won 6 Grammy awards , so kudos to her!!! . Miley Cyrus looked quite chic in her Max Azria piece that she wore , it is definitely my style. I was super impressed with how Jennifer Hudson looked! She is wearing a piece from Victoria Beckham's collection which flatters her in all the right places. Fergie looked amazing as well in the electric blue /cobalt color I liked it! Celine n Beyonce looked some what similar but I will take Celine's outfit over Beyonce just a tad bit too much chest for me :). Rhianna was wearing a gorgeous dress from Elie Saab who I just wrote a post on his fab spring 2010 collection. The beautiful white color looked amazing on her , got me thinking could I ever pull of white so fabulously ? If I do plan to wear any white dresses it will be from the The White Dress Shop , they have some affordable gorgeous pieces! Now , we have the big winner yesterday Taylor Swift kudos to her for winning the album of the year. I do think she is extremely talented , after all she sold like over a million records last year. I also plan on putting a few on my ipod , do you think she should have won album of the year ? Taylor Swift opted for a gorgeous Kaufman Franco dress it was age appropriate and looked stunning on her!

Meet The Interns! Kirsten & Emily!

Hi Everyone I’m Emily, one of La Mode’s new interns. I’m a senior at Rowan University majoring in advertising. This is the start of my final semester, only 116 days until graduation (not that I am counting or anything...lol).

I am really excited about my internship. Nikki is the perfect mentor; very organized and professional yet also funny and great to be around. I expect to learn a lot during my time here. Working for Le Mode will let me utilize my advertising and marketing knowledge in a field I love; fashion. My favorite designer is Betsey Johnson; her designs are over the top, but I love her use of color and her flair for whimsy. I own several of her bags and would love a few pieces of her jewelry. Attached is a picture of my favorite Betsey bag. Purchased from her store at the Pier in Atlantic City, this fun and wild bag is definitely me!

You know how some people love shoes, well I love handbags! Besides my Betsey bags, I own Dooney & Bourke bags, Michael Kors bags and, of course, quite a few Coach bags- see picture. Their Poppy Collection is amazing!! It’s bright and colorful and fun.

Personally, I enjoy traveling, hanging out with friends and family and having fun. I love my new iTouch, going to concerts and movies, photography and of course shopping.

I just returned from a trip to New York City, details next week.

My name is Kirsten Braun I’m 26, and I absolutely love fashion! I am very eager and excited to be working as an intern for La Mode. I have my associates degree in Marketing and I am currently attending school at DeVry University in PA working on my bachelors degree in Technical Management with a concentration in Small Business and Entrepreneurial ship. I started college at DeVry in 2008 with the intentions of graduating and then working in the marketing/entertainment industry. Even though I have always loved fashion I wasn’t sure if I could make a career out of it. After much thinking, I realized that because of my love to shop and my natural ability to pick out the latest trend and putting together outfits that are trendy but yet within my budget. What initially attracted me to La Mode was the fact that La Mode is in the fashion industry and that working for La Mode will help me gain the experience needed in order to pursue my career. Using the team approach I am sure that La Mode and myself can learn from each other and help La Mode grow to be a great success!

GREATNESS!

Happy New Year Everyone!

I named this post Greatness because that is what I am working on for 2010!

I am refreshed and ready to go! , I have been reading everyone's blogs and their well wishes and I just love some of the blogging communities that I have found. I have so much this year that I'm looking forward too personally and with La Mode.

Firstly I would love to say a HUGE THANK YOU! to the amazing people who have taken the time to enter my giveaway its a fabulous giveaway! This year I plan to have at least 1 every 6-8 weeks or so , so please keep posted ... :) I am also working on visiting each of you that have blogs to become followers as well!! It's all about support!

My personal Goals include building a closer relationship with God! He blessed me so much last year, even when I was faithless and for that I am thankful. I also plan to be more organized!! lol and spend my time more effectively on my days off! I also plan to get in more date nights with the Husband and trying to spend wisely.

La Mode is already looking great so far! Some of my goals are to make my blog more interactive and I am also looking to upgrade the design :) and maybe moving to word press. To write posts often so you can look forward to coming on over!

I plan to hopefully have a certain amount of new clients :)

La Mode is going to have its first annual Benefit Concert /Fundraiser this year WOOOHOOO!!! I will be donating half of the proceeds to two charities LabakCare which provides health care and hope for the less fortunate kids in Africa and to Alex's Lemonade stand for Pediatric Cancer. Although I know no one who has been diagnosed with Pediatric Cancer it is something verrry dear to my heart!! So if you are in the PA,NJ,MD,DE Area this will be something to look forward to, or even if you live beyond the cause is worth it! More info in the next couple of months. I plan to make this annual event with a different Charity every year.

La Mode's Interns will be starting this week and I am super excited about that! I have so much planned for them.

Also look out because we will be introducing a maternity , post-maternity package & a kids package to our business!!!

Intermission :)

Hey Everyone ,

Time for my Intermission post! :) So were do I start ? So much has been going on but I'm grateful. La Mode got it's first official intern woo woo! She will be starting Jan 21st for the spring semester , I hope she will be able to learn about small businesses firsthand from this experience. I also received another applicant this evening so , so far so good. Yesterday I had the opportunity to work the first White House Black Market fashion which was very interesting. I learned quite a few things :) I will post pics in a separate post later . I have been working on my short and long term goals for La Mode and I am extremely excited of some events to come in the new year. I'm very passionate about cancer awareness and even more cancer in children , La Mode is going to be doing something special for the kids affected by this horrid battle. Although ( and thankfully) I have never lost anyone dear to me from Cancer , it breaks my heart.

My mom is coming from Nigeria for the Christmas holidays so that is very exciting!!! :) . I should be in MD for the Christmas holidays with my brothers , her and the rest of my family. We plan to take professional pictures of me , her & the twins so that will be fun.

I have been stumbling on some fabulous blogs that pertain to all sorts of areas. I especially love the wifey & mommy ones that I have read lately. It's amazing how this blogging world has changed my perception on certain things or made me realize people go thru the same exact triumphs and struggles as I do. On another note there are also some other fab fab fashion blogs that I love. I appreciate all my readers and new readers , I am so grateful that you take the time to stop by and see whats happening on my blog. I make sure I visit and comment on everyones blog that passes thru here on mines or is a reader :).

I can't believe 2009 is rolling to an end! It has been an amazing year and I thank God for EVERYTHING I feel soooo blessed , I am looking fwd to bigger n better things for husband, my twins , my loved ones , my fellow entrepreneurs and all of my readers! I am ready for 2010.

Soul Train Awards 2009.

Hey Everyone,

So after a 2 year hiatus the Soul Train Music Awards is back! I had to record it as I was working. It was taped November 3rd and was aired November 23rd. After watching it I was pleasantly surprised because unlike the AMA's I actually liked a couple of the outfits that I saw. I especially liked Kandi Burruss who looked smashing in the strapless black feathered tube dress and a black jeweled necklace. Its nice to see her out & about despite the sad news of her ex-fiance passing away bac in October.

Some other things I enjoyed about the Soul Train Awards was Taraji P Henson and Terrence Howard's hosting performances. Boyz II Men though only 2/4 present I still love them , Trey Songz was amazing as well. Of course I also have to mention that Le Toya Luckett looked sexy in her Herve Leger dress and Robin Thicke looked nice and crisp in his black number :)

La Mode is LIVE & Officially OPEN!

Hey Everyone,

How was Thanksgiving ? Yummy I hope :) Mines was , I enjoyed the evening with wonderful my wonderful family.

Moving on ,I am so excited & thankful to God that La Mode's website is DONE!!! It has been such an amazing effort put forth by my very dear family friend that worked tirelessly on my website. I am completely satisfied with the finished product of my website currently . He was patient with my endless calls , emails and rants. I am proud to say that La Mode is OFFICIALLY open for business, I wanted to establish a styling based service were everyday people like you and me could enjoy such. I do want to thank my Husband , family and my friends who have supported me 100%. I also want to give a special shout out to the very talented Onada who is not only a very dear friend of mine but one of my inspirations who led me to really push ,challenge and believe in myself to pursue my passion of styling & wardrobing. I am so grateful!

I have to thank my wonderful clients so far , for taking a leap of faith in La Mode even before our official open ! I promise not to disappoint you!

Sorry I haven't updated in a little bit , been super busy. The website is progressing nicely and all it needs now are the finishing touches. Brief Intermission! "La Mode"

Hey Everyone !!

Firstly , I would just like to say a BIG thank you to my hubby and all my friends who have been so supportive am so grateful for the encouragement.

It is already the end of the weekend and boy did the weekend fly by. I'm currently working on several posts , but the two closer to being done are outerwear for men and boots for the fall. I lovee some of the boots I have been checking out in the magazines and decided to do write about it. However, I decided to write a bit about La Mode's progress, my new business that I'm starting. I am soooo proud to say we will be officially open Nov 1st 2009. It has been so much work , I never quite envisioned that it would be like this. So right now we are on the working hard to bring our clients a polished , clear and professional website. Many many thanks to Dara Osibo who has been keeping up with my countless Skype sessions on discussing the website I am so grateful. La Mode is going to be in full capacity and ready to offer their clients who are local , out of state and even international phenomenal service! I can't wait for potential brides to see the pampering they will receive through our services and even our virtual services. Although La Mode will be officially open Nov 1st , I have already started working with few clients. I just finished working with our first client and she was so open minded and a great spirit. I can't wait to see the pictures in her fabulous outfits for the style thats just right for her!
